X-lam/cross laminated timber

X-lam is a multi-layered cross-laminated timber with at least 3 layers of solid wood. There is a minimial shrinking in the longitudinal and transverse direction ensuring high accuracy of fit and minimal „work" of the wood element. X-lam is suitable for solid wood elements for surface preparation of walls, ceilings and roofs in modern timber construction. The massiv surface elements offer several benefits:

  • diffuson-open and wind-tight constructions
  • earthquake-resistant constructions
  • high fire prevention
  • better living environment

Our results regarding x-lam

Merkle Holz offers:

  • Standard elements in 60 or 72 cm in width can be adapted by every carpenter himself.
  • Up to 18 meters length available.
  • 3 - to 9-layer structure in the thicknesses of 80 to 300 mm.
  • Various edge treatments possible.
  • Wood species of spruce, douglas and larch.
  • Surface quality Si (visual quality, equivalent AB), nSi (industrial quality, equivalent to C) or mixed.
  • Machined structures.
  • Large elements assembled ready for installation.
